What is Earthing?
Earthing is about grounding your body to the surface of the earth which
helps
you feel
better. The earth is loaded with natural healing
energy in the form of
negatively
charged free electrons. These
electrons are vital to optimal health as they are
also the end result of
the anti-oxidant cycle [the same result that you get
from Vitamin C, E
etc.].
When connected to the Earth, these electrons—nature's most abundant source
of
anti-inflammatories—instantaneously begin to neutralize the
positively-charged
free radicals that create inflammation, pain, and
dis-ease.
Grounding can be achieved by standing barefoot outdoors on the grass or
earth.
Inside your house the best way to get grounded is to get a
safe,
conductive carbonized rubber mat, or a special cotton bed sheet
with silver
threads. These "barefoot substitutes" work as a natural link
to the earth that
will ground you while you are
on the computer or
sleeping.

Improved Blood Viscosity and Zeta Potential Pilot Study by Dr. Stephen
Sinatra
M.D. |
See below ↓↓↓
"But perhaps one of the most powerful benefits of Earthing is what it can do for your blood pressure. As many of you know, high blood pressure is caused by something called “hyperviscosity,” which means your blood is thick and sticky and moves slowly through your circulatory system. In other words, your blood is thick like ketchup, and that feeds the inflammation process that damages arteries, boosts blood pressure, and increases the risk of blood clots.
Instead of being like ketchup, you want your blood to flow like red wine, smoothly and easily. That’s where Earthing comes in. By altering the electrical “charge” of your blood, Earthing helps to improve its flow and viscosity. It also helps to discharge stress, which as you know is another factor that can drive up blood pressure." Dr. Stephen Sinatra
On a cellular level, blood becomes thicker when red blood cells clump
together,
or aggregate. Cells stick together when they lack enough
negative surface
charge with which to repel each other.
Zeta potential describes the relative surface charge of red blood
cells.
Increased zeta potential indicates thinner blood and greater
negative charge of
red blood cells. As electrons are negatively charged,
absorbing them by
Earthing may increase the negative surface charge of our
red blood cells, and
thus decrease blood viscosity and increase zeta
potential.
In a recent pilot study on zeta potential, researchers sampled blood from
10
healthy subjects before and after 2 hours of grounding with an Earthing
device.
They then examined the relative movement of red blood cells using
a video
camera that had been mounted on a dark-field microscope, and found
that
Earthing lowers blood viscosity and improves blood flow.
Using an Earthing device may protect against cardiovascular events like
heart
attacks or strokes. It follows, that sleeping at night while
grounded provides
the greatest opportunity for blood thinning effects.

The Benefits of Earthing
For more than 11 years, Earthing research and feedback from individuals
who
have grounded themselves, primarily while sleeping at night,
demonstrate a
multitude of benefits. Here is a short list of them:
1. Improvement or elimination of the symptoms of many
inflammation-related
disorders
2. Reduction or elimination of chronic pain
3. Better sleep and faster to sleep, Normalized melatonin (sleep hormone)
and
cortisol (stress hormone) levels
4. Protection against potentially health-disturbing
environmental
electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
5. Lowered stress, more calmness by cooling down the nervous system and
stress
hormones
6. Normalization of the body's biological rhythms
7. Thinner blood, improved blood pressure and flow
8. Muscle tension and headache relief
9. Lessened hormonal and menstrual symptoms
10. Dramatically faster healing and reduction/prevention of bedsores
11. Reduction/elimination of jet lag
12. Increased energy
13. Accelerated recovery from intense athletic activity
